GTA 6 Trailer 2 — Every Detail We Spotted
Rockstar dropped the second trailer and we paused every frame. Here's every vehicle, location, and hidden detail we found.
Rockstar released the second GTA VI trailer on 1 May 2025. We have spent considerable time going through it frame by frame. Here is what is actually visible, kept separate from what people have inferred.
The setting
The trailer establishes that Leonida spans a dense downtown core, extensive suburban areas, wetlands, and the island chain to the south.
At least three distinct architectural eras are visible: preserved Art Deco in the older districts, 1980s strip-mall suburbia, and contemporary glass-and-steel towers. That mix is doing a lot of work — it is how the city reads as a real place with history rather than a single consistent set.
Vehicles
We counted over forty visually distinct vehicles. Several have clear real-world inspirations, including a supercar strongly reminiscent of a Ferrari F40 and a muscle car based on a late-1960s Charger. Multiple watercraft appear, consistent with the amount of navigable water in the map.
Vehicle damage modelling looks noticeably more granular than GTA V's, though trailer footage is a poor basis for firm conclusions about damage systems.
Lucia and Jason
The footage shows the two leads in visibly different situations. Lucia appears more frequently in close-quarters confrontations; Jason appears more often driving and in longer-range engagements.
This has been widely read as evidence of distinct character abilities. We would flag that this is inference from trailer editing, not a confirmed mechanic. Trailers are cut for rhythm, not to document systems. It is a reasonable guess and it is not a fact.
Technical observations
Three things stand out as genuine generational jumps:
Crowd density. Street scenes carry far more pedestrians than GTA V managed, and they appear to be doing varied things rather than walking in loops.
Water. The surface simulation and the way vehicles interact with it is substantially ahead of anything Rockstar has shipped.
Lighting. The sunset sequences in particular show the kind of global illumination behaviour that was not practical on last-generation hardware.
The callbacks
The most discussed find is a framed newspaper visible briefly in an interior, carrying a headline referencing the Vercetti empire — a direct nod to the 2002 Vice City protagonist.
Community analysis has flagged several other possible references. We track these on our Easter Eggs page with explicit labelling, because trailer analysis has a long and well-documented history of producing confident false positives.
What the trailer does not tell you
Worth stating plainly: no mission count, no map size figure, no progression systems, no performance targets, and no information about an online component. Anything you read asserting those from this trailer is invented.
